Anderson soccer player Jesse Lang voted Austin-area Boys Athlete of the Week
Anderson soccer player Jesse Lang, whose hat trick led the Trojans past LASA 5-4 Jan. 9, was voted the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-Area Boys Athlete of the Week for Jan. 8-13.
Lang, one of the top players for the 5-0 Trojans, received nearly 52% of the vote. Johnson basketball player Sam McKinney won the previous week's poll.
Georgetown basketball player Ryan Dupre, Rouse's JoJo Moore, Stony Point's Josiah Moseley and Lake Travis' Jayden Thomas were the other candidates.
The American-Statesman will have a weekly vote for Boys Athlete of the Week and Girls Athlete of the Week throughout the academic year.
