Alliance quarterback Brendan Zurbrugg will enroll at the University of Oklahoma soon

Alliance senior quarterback Brendan Zurbrugg is set to get a jump on his college career. The standout Aviator will enroll at the University of Oklahoma and begin classes in January.

Zurbrugg was the Northeast Ohio Inland District Division III Player of the Year this past season. Zurbrugg threw for 2,322 yards with 26 touchdowns with just four interceptions this season. Zurbrugg also ran for 1,038 yards and 13 touchdowns while helping the Aviators to a playoff appearance.

He also wrapped up his career with several program records at Alliance. That includes most completions (490), highest completion percentage (72) and most yards (6,376). Zurbrugg exits tied for most touchdowns at Alliance with 63. He also ran for 2,141 yards and 25 rushing touchdowns in his career.

Zurbrugg will forego his high school senior basketball season and track and field season as a result. Zurbrugg won a regional championship in the 300 hurdles last season and placed fifth at the state meet in the same event.
