Alabama PG Jahvon Quinerly withdraws from NBA Draft, returning to Alabama for final season
Alabama point guard Jahvon Quinerly has withdrawn his name from the 2023 NBA draft and will return to Tuscaloosa for his sixth and final season.
Quinerly began his college career at Villanova in 2018. He was regarded as a five-star recruit coming out of Hudson Catholic School in Jersey City, New Jersey.
After spending one season with the program, Quinerly entered his name into the transfer portal. He chose to transfer to Alabama and play for first-year head coach Nate Oats.
Quinerly sat out for one season but has played in each of the last three seasons. He has averaged 11.7 points, 3.7 assists, and 2.3 rebounds per game in his time with the Crimson Tide.
He is commonly known for his play in the NCAA Tournament. Quinerly is a great facilitator and has steadily improved as a shooter throughout his college career.
Quinerly’s decision to return is a big deal for an Alabama team that saw three starters — Noah Clowney, Brandon Miller, and Charles Bediako, head to the NBA. His veteran presence and leadership will be welcomed in Tuscaloosa next season as the Tide look to repeat as SEC champions and return to the NCAA Tournament.
