Alabama MBB announces new opponent after Colorado State cancels due to COVID concerns

Nate Oats and the No. 6 ranked Crimson Tide will no longer be facing Colorado State this upcoming Tuesday, Dec. 21. The Rams announced yesterday the program would not be traveling to Birmingham to face the Crimson Tide due to the public health recommendations regarding COVID.

On short notice, Alabama was tasked with finding a new opponent for the C.M. Newton Classic in Legacy arena at the BJCC in Birmingham.

Today, the program announced a new opponent: Davidson.

The Wildcats are currently 8-2 with losses to San Francisco and New Mexico State. The Crimson Tide will be the toughest game Davidson will have played to date, and will more than likely be the highest-ranked team the program will face all season.

Alabama will face Jacksonville State at home tonight before heading to Birmingham. The Crimson Tide are the 8-2 following a devastating loss to the team’s most recent opponent, Memphis, on the road.
