Alabama high school football: Tuscaloosa area top 10 rankings heading into Week 10
It is now the final week of the Alabama high school football season. Here are where the top-10 Tuscaloosa area teams stack up heading into Week 10 action.
1. Hillcrest (10-0, 7-0 6A-Region 4): Hillcrest defeated McAdory 48-21 last week for its second-straight undefeated regular season. The Patriots now have the week off before heading into a round one playoff matchup at home. Last week: Ranked No. 1. This week: idle.

2. Bibb County (9-1, 7-0 4A-Region 3): The Choctaws finished their regular season last week with a 54-0 win over Holt. They now have the week off before their round one playoff matchup versus Montgomery Academy at home. Last week: Ranked No. 2. This week: idle.
3. Gordo (8-1, 6-0 3A-Region 5): Gordo comes out of its idle week and hosts Hale County to close out its regular season. Last week: Ranked No. 3. This week: vs. Hale County.
4. American Christian Academy (8-2, 6-1 4A-Region 3): The Patriots defeated Montevallo 18-6 last week to secure the No. 2 spot in 4A-Region 3. ACA now has the week off before it hosts B.T. Washington in the first round of playoffs. Last week: Ranked No. 4. This week: idle.
5. Demopolis (7-2, 5-0 5A-Region 3): Demopolis is coming off its fourth-straight win, 31-7 over Greenville. The Tigers wrap up their regular season this week, hosting Paul Bryant. Last week: Ranked No. 5. This week: vs Paul Bryant.

6. Tuscaloosa County (4-5, 2-5 7A-Region 3): Tuscaloosa County is coming off a 45-0 loss to Vestavia Hills to conclude 7A-Region 3 play. The Wildcats now look to finish their 2023 season this Friday at home hosting Brookwood. Last week: Ranked No. 6. This week: vs Brookwood.
7. Tuscaloosa Academy (7-2, 5-1 2A-Region 5): The Knights defeated Cold Springs 48-26 last week to claim the 2A-Region 5 title. They now close their regular season out this week hosting Holt. Last week: ranked No. 7. This week: vs Holt.

8. Sulligent (8-1, 5-1 2A-Region 5): Sulligent comes out of its idle week and closes out its regular season this week hosting Colbert County. The Blue Devils have clinched the No. 2 seed in 2A-Region 5. Last week: ranked No. 8. This week: vs. Colbert County.
9. Lamar County (7-2, 4-2 2A-Region 5): The Bulldogs are coming off a 43-35 win over Winston County, where they put up 30 unanswered points in the second half to secure the No. 4 seed in 2A-Region 5. They close out their regular season on the road this week at Winfield. Last week: ranked No. 10. This week: at Winfield.
10. Central-Tuscaloosa (5-5, 3-4 6A-Region 4): Central closed out 6A-Region 4 play last week, falling 56-28 to Hueytown. The Falcons currently sit in the No. 5 spot in the region, missing out on a playoff bid. Last week: ranked No. 9. This week: idle.
