The Cincinnati Bengals are bringing back linebacker Akeem Davis-Gaither on a one-year contract, the team announced Wednesday.

The deal for the special-teams ace is worth about $3 million, according to a report Monday night from ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Davis-Gaither was scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent.

Davis-Gaither played in 13 games last season, his fourth with the Bengals. He started one.

Davis-Gaither had an interception in the Bengals' 24-17 playoff win against the Baltimore Ravens in January 2023. He has played in 54 regular-season games and three postseason games since his rookie season.

The Bengals selected Davis-Gaither in the fourth round with the 107th overall pick of the 2020 NFL draft. He was named Sun Belt Conference defensive player of the year at Appalachian State.
