AFC East news: Dolphins’ Jalen Ramsey set to miss extended time

The Miami Dolphins did not receive the best of news regarding cornerback Jalen Ramsey.

According to Dolphins Wire, Miami will be without the star defensive back for most of the 2023 season.

On Thursday, Ramsey was carted off the field during Dolphins training camp after he grabbed his knee. On the positive side, it’s not an ACL injury, however, Ramsey will need a full meniscus repair which is set to keep him out until December.

Ramsey, 28, was acquired by the Dolphins in a trade this offseason for a third-round pick and tight end Hunter Long in a deal with the Los Angeles Rams. Miami then gave Ramsey an adjusted contract that lowered his cap number to $2.9 million in 2023.

Ramsey is considered by many as one of the NFL’s best defensive backs. However, he has not fared well against Buffalo in his career. He is 0-4 against the Bills in the regular season.

And speaking of the schedule, Ramsey will undoubtedly miss the Week 4 Buffalo-Miami matchup. It remains to be seen if Ramsey is back on the field when the Bills and Dolphins faceoff in the final week of the 2023 season.
