Ace Austin's 57 points in AHSAA Final Four for Spring Garden lead Gadsden area top performers

Here are the Gadsden Times area top performers for the Week ending March 1 for high school basketball Final Four and baseball, softball, soccer and golf.

Thursday, Feb. 29

Boaz's Elijah Kelley had two RBIs and scored twice in a 8-4 win over Arab.

Gaston's Zeke Voytek went 4 of 5 from the plate and had an RBI in a 10-5 win over West End.

Gaston's Luke Hollingsworth went 2 of 3 with two RBIs.

Sardis's Landon Carroll had six RBIs on two hits, including a homerun and a triple, and two runs scored in a 20-0 win over Glencoe.

Sardis's Trey Thornton brought in four RBIs on two hits, including a homerun, while scoring three times.

Sardis's Carson Gillilan brought in three runs on two hits and scored twice.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

Boaz's Brooks Gentry brought in four RBIs and had a homerun in a 11-4 win over Arab.

Monday, Feb. 26

Sardis's Derek Tarvin had three RBIs on one hit in a 17-0 win over Gaston.

Sardis's Levi Martin hit a homerun and drove in two runners.

Sardis's Blaze Gerhart scored twice and tallied two RBIs in a 11-1 win over Hokes Bluff while striking out 12 batters and only allowing three hits in five innings of work on the mound.

Sardis's Landon Carroll scored once on three hits.

Saturday, Feb. 24

Boaz's Elijah Kelley pitched seven shutout innings in a 8-0 win over Westbrook Christian.

Susan Moore's Kade Justice went 4 of 5 with two doubles and two RBIs with three stolen bases while pitching for innings, allowing one hit.

Guntersville's Jackson Porch scored 26 points with four steals in a 75-70 loss to Vigor.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

Geraldine's Jaxon Colvin scored 15 points with eight rebounds in a 62-49 loss to Hillcrest-Evergreen.

Geraldine's Connor Johnson scored 13 points.

Monday, Feb. 26

Southside's Justin Lovoy placed second after shooting a 70 in the Madison County Invitational.

Southside's Mallory Brooks placed fourth after shooting a 79 in the Madison County Invitational.

Cherokee County's Grayson Tucker hit a two-run homerun in a 7-6 loss to Southside and added three walks.

Gaston's Brylie McCarver picked up the win while allowing only two hits in a 6-2 win over Asbury.

Glencoe's Aubrey Maxwell went 3-for-3 with two doubles and six RBIs in a 17-0 win over Gadsden City.

Glencoe's Sadie Waldrop went 2 of 2 with a triple and four RBIs.

Piedmont's Savannah Smith pitched a complete game shutout, allowing only three hits with nine strikeouts. She added a run scored and an RBI.

Southside's Ava Ramsey hit a three-run home run in a 7-6 win over Cherokee County.

Southside's Kadey Barbe hit a solo homerun.

Tuesday, Feb. 27

Ashville's Analynn Williamson had seven RBIs on four hits, including a home run in a 23-8 win over Talladega.

Fyffe's Brindlee Walston had two hits with two RBIs and scored twice vs. Sylvania.

Fyffe's Elli Stone had three hits with two RBIs.

Southside's Ava Ramsey had four hits, including a three-run homerun in a 13-3 win vs. Oxford.

Monday, Feb. 26

Ashville's Ansley Brashier scored twice on two hits with four RBIs in a 11-5 win over Weaver.

Ashville's Analynn Williamson had two RBIs and a hit while scoring a run.

Ashville's Alexis St. John pitched seven innings with 10 strikeouts while allowing only five runs on five hits.
