Aberdeen Central's football; Warner and Northwestern volleyball teams also ranked

Watertown and Aberdeen Central's football teams are still rated heading into their first-round Class 11AA playoff matchup and three area volleyball teams remain ranked in this week's South Dakota Prep Media polls.

It's the final football poll of the season for the state's Class 11AAA, 11AA and 11A teams.

Watertown (6-3) is rated fourth in Class 11AA and hosts fifth-rated Aberdeen Central (4-5) in a playoff game set for 6 p.m. Thursday at Watertown Stadium.

The state's volleyball poll includes fourth-rated Class AA Watertown (22-5), top-rated Class B Warner (33-0) and third-rated Class B Northwestern (25-7).

Aberdeen Central (13-8) received votes in AA along with Groton Area (17-4) and Aberdeen Roncalli (17-5) in Class A.
