76ers' Joel Embiid tells Raptors coach Nick Nurse to stop complaining about officiating
Toronto Raptors head coach Nick Nurse had issues with the officiating in Game 1 of the first-round series against the Philadelphia Sixers. In response, 76ers MVP-candidate Joel Embiid told Nurse to "stop (expletive) about calls."
Emiid, who finished with 31 points, 11 rebounds against Toronto Monday to lead 76ers to 112-97 win over the Raptors, addressed comments made by Nurse following the teams' first meeting on Saturday.
"He's a great coach," Embiid said. "Obviously, he's been able to accomplish (a lot) and always been a big fan. But, I told him, respectfully, I told him to stop (expletive) about calls."
After the Raptors' loss in Game 1 on Saturday, Nurse shared that he thought there were several fouls that should have been called on Embiid, adding on Monday that there was little improvement made.
"At least there wasn't as many elbows thrown to the face tonight that we had to endure," Nurse said.
Nurse was asked about Embiid's comments Monday and shared that there wasn't much more to it.

"He was saying to me that, 'I'm going to keep making all the free throws if you keep fouling,'" Nurse said. "And I said, 'Well, you might have to.'
"But a good player, man. I got a lot of respect for him. He's certainly playing great here. There's nothing there but us trying to compete against him and him trying to compete against us."
With a 2-0 lead, the Sixers will meet the Raptors for Game 3 on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET.
