Here are 75 Washington County high school athletes to watch this fall

There's a wealth of talent returning to Washington County's high schools this fall.

We've already covered football this month, both on offense and on defense.

Across the county, there are dozens of athletes in the other fall sports including boys and girls soccer, volleyball, cross country and golf who earned all-county recognition in 2022 and are ready to make their mark again as 2023 marches toward its conclusion.

Here are 75 athletes to watch over the next three months.

Ryan Acre, Sr., Williamsport, golf — Acre earned all-county second-team honors last year, averaging 43 strokes per nine holes.

Yemeli Akaya, Jr., Saint James, volleyball — Akaya averaged 1.88 kills per set for the Saints last year.

Dillon Albowicz, Sr., Clear Spring, boys soccer — As an all-county first-team defender in 2022, he was dangerous coming forward with four goals and five assists.

Michael Anderson, Jr., South Hagerstown, boys soccer — Anderson made the all-county second team as a defender for the Rebels last year.

Mason Bauer, Sr., Williamsport, boys soccer — Bauer finished with three goals and four assists for the Wildcats last year.

Rishi Bhat, Jr., North Hagerstown, boys cross country — Bhat was the county runner-up in 2022. On the track, he won the county 1,600 indoors and the county 3,200 outdoors.

Rosslyn Briggs, Jr., Boonsboro, volleyball — Briggs earned all-county second-team honors last year, averaging 2.22 kills and 1.63 digs per set for the CMC Gambrill champion Warriors.

Nicole Calp, Sr., Smithsburg, girls soccer — Calp scored seven goals and was a steady performer in the Leopards' midfield last year, earning all-county first-team honors.

Sid Cecco, Jr., Smithsburg, volleyball — Cecco averaged three digs per set for the Leopards in 2022.

Anna Chamberlin, So., North Hagerstown, girls cross country — Chamberlin finished third in the county meet last year and made the all-county first team.

Bailey Crampton, Jr., Saint James, volleyball — Crampton made the all-county second team as a setter last year, averaging 7.93 assists per set for the Saints.

Delaney Crampton, Jr., Saint James, volleyball — Crampton earned all-county second-team honors in 2022, averaging 2.14 kills and 2.56 digs per set.

Jakob Davidson, Jr., Boonsboro, boys cross country — Davidson placed seventh in the county meet and earned all-county second-team honors last year. On the track, he finished second in the county 3,200 both indoors and outdoors.

Baylee Doolan, Jr., North Hagerstown, volleyball — Doolan made the all-county second team after averaging 2.24 kills and 1.90 digs per set for the Class 3A state champion Hubs last year.

Caydence Doolan, So., North Hagerstown, volleyball — Doolan averaged 1.62 kills per set for the Hubs last year.

Matthew Downs, Sr., Williamsport, boys soccer — Downs earned all-county second-team honors as a midfielder last year, finishing with three goals and two assists.

Madison Ebersole, Sr., Clear Spring, girls soccer — Ebersole made the all-county second team as a goalie last year.

Carson Feeser, Jr., Grace Academy, boys soccer — Feeser made the MDCC first team and all-county second team last year as a productive forward and midfielder.

Danielle Fish, Sr., St. Maria Goretti, girls soccer — Fish earned all-county second-team honors last year, when she scored 15 goals.

Chloe Fisher, Jr., Smithsburg, volleyball — Fisher fueled the Leopards' attack as a standout setter in 2022, averaging 9.08 assists and 0.86 aces to make the all-county first team.

Ella Fisher, Jr., Smithsburg, girls cross country — Fisher earned all-county second-team honors last year, with a top finish of third at the Interstate Classic.

Darius Geaman, So., North Hagerstown, boys soccer — Geaman was an all-county second-team goalie for the Hubs last year, finishing with 51 saves and three shutouts in 13 games with a 1.54 goals-against average.

Cora Gentzel, Jr., Smithsburg, girls cross country — Gentzel placed fourth in the county, third in the CMC Gambrill and seventh in the Class 1A state race in 2022, earning all-county first-team honors.

Michaela Gross, Sr., Smithsburg, girls cross country — Gross had six top-10 finishes, including eighth in the county meet, to earn all-county second-team honors last year.

Kayla Hawbecker, Jr., Smithsburg, girls cross country — Hawbecker finished fifth in the county and fourth in the CMC Gambrill last year to make the all-county first team.

Caden Herbert, Jr., Smithsburg, boys soccer — Herbert made the CMC Gambrill first team and the all-county second team as a defender for the Leopards last year.

Julia Heredia, Sr., Saint James, girls cross country — Heredia finished eighth in the Mercersburg Invitational and 10th at the Interstate Classic to make the all-county second team last year.

Cole Horst, Sr., Heritage, boys soccer — Horst, a central midfielder, had two goals and three assists for the Eagles last year.

Rian Johnson, Jr., North Hagerstown, girls cross country — Johnson finished ninth in the CMC Spires race and 12th in the county meet to make the all-county second team last year. She placed second in the county 1,600 in indoor track last winter.

Kadan Jones, Jr., Boonsboro, golf — Jones averaged 43.3 strokes per nine holes in 2022, making the all-county second team.

Isabel Lear, Jr., Grace Academy, volleyball — Lear got it done both offensively and defensively for the Knights in 2022, averaging 2.46 kills, 3.66 digs and 0.62 aces per set.

Luke Leisinger, So., South Hagerstown, golf — Leisinger averaged 43.7 strokes per nine holes in 2022, earning all-county second-team honors.

Kundai Makusha, Sr., South Hagerstown, boys soccer — Makusha produced three goals and three assists for the Rebels last year.

Walker Mason, So., North Hagerstown, boys cross country — Mason finished third in the county race in 2022, earning all-county first-team honors, and was the county 3,200 champion in indoor track last winter.

Caroline Matthews, Sr., Boonsboro, girls cross country — Matthews was the Class 1A state runner-up two years ago, and placed second in the county and fifth at states in 2022. She is a three-time track and field state champion in the 3,200 (twice indoors, once outdoors).

Danny McElroy, Jr., Saint James, golf — McElroy earned all-county second-team honors last year, averaging 43.5 strokes per nine holes.

Sullivan McGreevy, Sr., North Hagerstown, boys cross country — McGreevy finished fifth in the county race and the Interstate Classic large-school race, 10th in the Patriot Invitational, and 11th in the CMC Spires to earn all-county first-team honors last year.

Kassidy Meadows, Sr., Smithsburg, volleyball — Meadows averaged 1.56 kills and 2.75 digs per set for the Leopards in 2022.

Piper Meredith, So., Boonsboro, golf — Meredith won the Class 2A-1A District 1 girls title last year and placed fourth in the state tournament, earning all-county first-team honors.

Peyton Miller, Sr., St. Maria Goretti, girls soccer — Miller returns to the Gaels' potent attack after producing 12 goals and 13 assists in 2022, earning all-county first-team honors.

Emerson Moats, Sr., Clear Spring, volleyball — Moats earned all-county second-team honors as the Blazers' libero last year, averaging 3.57 digs per set.

Jadyn Murray, Sr., St. Maria Goretti, girls soccer — Murray had six goals and eight assists in 2022, earning all-county second-team honors.

Lexi Myers, Sr., Grace Academy, volleyball — Myers averaged 4.25 assists and 2.49 digs per set last year for the Knights.

Nate Myers, Sr., South Hagerstown, boys soccer — Myers earned all-county second-team honors as a midfielder and defender in 2022, finishing with a goal and three assists.

Skylar Norris, So., Williamsport, volleyball — Norris averaged 1.58 kills and 0.80 blocks per set for the Wildcats last year.

Samantha O’Connor, Jr., North Hagerstown, girls soccer — O'Connor found the net nine times for the Hubs in 2022 to make the all-county first team.

Carlos Pazos, Sr., Boonsboro, boys soccer — Pazos earned all-county second-team honors last year after scoring eight goals for the Warriors.

Ben Rankin, Sr., Clear Spring, boys soccer — Rankin earned all-county first-team honors last year as a steady midfield anchor equally adept at both ends of the pitch.

Mollie Rebuck, Sr., St. Maria Goretti, girls soccer — Rebuck was the headliner in the Gaels' fearsome attack in 2022, finishing with 28 goals and 15 assists to make the all-county first team.

Breann Reed, Jr., Boonsboro, volleyball — Reed averaged 3.24 digs and 0.84 aces per set for the Warriors last year.

Macy Rhinaman, Sr., Boonsboro, girls soccer — Rhinaman earned all-county second-team honors as a midfielder in 2022, finishing with three goals and two assists.

Jack Rhodes, Jr., South Hagerstown, golf — Rhodes averaged 44.8 strokes per nine holes last year, making the all-county second team.

MJ Ribis, Sr., Williamsport, boys soccer — Ribis always poses a threat up front. He found the net nine times in 2022 to make the all-county first team.

Bryson Rohrer, Jr., North Hagerstown, boys soccer — Rohrer finished with seven goals and three assists for the Hubs last year to make the all-county second team.

Emily Ryder, Jr., Smithsburg, volleyball — Ryder averaged 2.07 kills per set to earn all-county second-team honors last year for the Leopards.

Tyler Sadler, Jr., Boonsboro, boys soccer — Sadler was named to the CMC Gambrill first team and the all-county second team as a defender for the Warriors in 2022.

Faith Santora, Sr., Boonsboro, girls soccer — Santora earned all-county second-team honors as a playmaking midfielder last year, finishing with three goals and seven assists.

Seth Seaward, Sr., South Hagerstown, boys soccer — Seaward scored five goals for the Rebels last year, earning all-county second-team honors.

Emerson Shank, Jr., Williamsport, volleyball — Shank averaged 6.52 assists and 2.38 digs per set for the Wildcats in 2022.

Ethan Shoemaker, Sr., Heritage, boys soccer — Shoemaker is the leader and anchor of the Eagles' defense as a center back.

Reese Sitter, Sr., South Hagerstown, volleyball — Sitter averaged 1.69 kills and 1.91 digs per set for the Rebels last year.

Audrey Slocum, Sr., South Hagerstown, girls soccer — Slocum had four goals and three assists last year to make the all-county second team.

Emma Smith, Sr., Grace Academy, volleyball — Smith averaged 4.11 kills, 1.09 aces and 4.98 digs per set as the leader of the Knights in 2022, earning all-county first-team honors.

Olivia Smith, So., Williamsport, volleyball — Smith earned CMC Gambrill first-team honors last year, averaging 2.25 kills and 1.48 digs for the Wildcats.

Sydni Smith, Sr., St. Maria Goretti, volleyball — As a junior at Heritage last fall, Smith earned all-county second-team honors, averaging 5.21 kills, 4.72 assists, 2.56 digs and 1.04 aces per set.

Lauren Stine, Jr., North Hagerstown, girls cross country — Stine was the runner of the year in 2022, winning the county title and placing second in Class 3A at the state meet. Last spring, she won the 3A 3,200 state title in 10:54.42, making her the No. 2 performer in the event in county history.

Jonny Tiznado, Sr., Clear Spring, boys soccer — Tiznado made the all-county second team as a midfielder and defender last year, finishing with two goals and three assists.

Lauren Toms, Sr., Williamsport, girls soccer — Toms had 13 goals and five assists for the Wildcats in 2022, earning all-county first-team honors.

Major Warren, Sr., St. Maria Goretti, boys soccer — It's tough to score past Warren, as the Gaels' opponents found out in 2022, when the goalie surrendered just nine goals (0.71 per game) to make the all-county first team.

Madison Weirich, Jr., Clear Spring, girls soccer — Weirich made the all-county second team as a defender last year.

Carson Wilt, So., North Hagerstown, boys cross country — Wilt finished sixth in the county meet, 17th in the Interstate Classic large-school race, 24th in the Patriot Invitational and 31st in 3A West in 2022, earning all-county first-team honors.

Roland Wright, Jr., St. Maria Goretti, golf — Wright averaged 40.1 strokes per nine holes for the Gaels last year. The all-county first-team honoree won the Spring Mills Invitational with a 74 at The Woods.

Michael Wynkoop, So., Smithsburg, boys cross country — Wynkoop finished third in the Don Stoner Invitational, fifth in the CMC Gambrill and 16th in both the 1A West and Class 1A state races to make the all-county first team last year.

Addy Zeigler, Jr., Clear Spring, volleyball — Zeigler was an explosive hitting force on the Blazers' Class 1A state championship squad in 2022, averaging 2.53 kills per set and making the all-county first team.

Sanzhar Zhandossov, Sr., North Hagerstown, boys soccer — Zhandossov was the key cog in the Hubs' defense in 2022, earning all-county first-team honors.
