6 Colts to watch vs. Texans in Week 6

The Indianapolis Colts (1-4) are looking to get back on track with a home matchup against the Houston Texans (1-4) at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.

This is a big game for the Colts—one they can’t afford to lose. Heavily favored at home, the Colts haven’t found themselves in this situation yet this season. With that, there will be a number of players to keep an eye on during this divisional bout.

Here are six Colts to watch in the Week 6 matchup against the Texans:

WR T.Y. Hilton

It’s October. It’s spooky vibes szn. The Colts are playing the Texans. Of course, Hilton makes his debut this week.

The 31-year-old wide receiver was activated from the injured reserve list on Saturday after missing the first five games of the season due to a neck injury. He gets to take on the one team he’s dominated throughout his entire career.

It isn’t clear how much work Hilton will get, but the Colts will certainly try to get him going. The Colts haven’t had much consistent production outside of Michael Pittman Jr. so Hilton’s return will be a welcome sight.

The Colts need to continue getting Alie-Cox involved in the passing game. His limited work still includes explosive plays and there may not be a better matchup to feature the 6-foot-5 tight end.

Entering Week 6, the Texans have allowed the fourth-most receptions (34), the fourth-most receiving yards (369) and tied for the most touchdown receptions (4) to the tight end position.

It would be wise for the Colts to exploit this matchup.

With Braden Smith continuing to deal with a nagging foot injury that has kept him out longer than the Colts would like, the team made a switch to start Pryor at right tackle over Julién Davenport in Week 5. The move worked wonderfully.

Against the Baltimore Ravens, Pryor allowed just one pressure in prime time. The Texans pass rush isn’t one to fear and Pryor can be a big reason the offense continues to find its groove.

The rookie defensive end has missed two-plus games due to a nagging hamstring injury but appears ready to make his return right when the Colts need it.

The pass rush has been inconsistent for the majority of the season and while Paye wasn’t able to do much in the first two weeks, he went against some of the top-tier tackles in the league. Now, he gets a matchup where the Texans will be without starting left tackle Laremy Tunsil after he underwent thumb surgery.

This is the type of matchup that could allow for a breakout.

CB Rock Ya-Sin

Also making his return from an ankle injury that has kept him out the last two games, Ya-Sin was enjoying a strong start to the season before the injury. The Colts are expected to get Xavier Rhodes on the field after he suffered a concussion in Week 5 so the secondary will be at near full strength.

Seeing if Ya-Sin can continue stringing together strong games will be something to watch on Sunday.

K Michael Badgley

Getting the call up from the practice squad, Badgley will be replacing starter Rodrigo Blankenship, who was placed on the injured reserve list due to a hip injury. Badgley spent his first preseason in the NFL with the Colts before being let go during roster cuts in 2018.
