5-for-5 day at the dish: Vote for the High School Baseball Player of the Week

West Bridgewater High's Jag Garces has been voted the High School Baseball Player of the Week.

The sophomore collected over 9,000 votes to earn the honor. Garces reached base 5 times (double, 4 walks) and stole 5 bases in a 16-7 win over Hull. He doubled in all three of his plate appearances in a 10-8 loss to Cohasset.

And this week's candidates are...

Ryan Solimini, Soph., Abington: Solimini pitched 6 innings, allowing 2 hits, in his first varsity start, a 9-2 win over Monomoy. He also chipped in an RBI triple.

Nathan DiRado, Sr., Carver: DiRado had a big week for the Crusaders. At the plate, he went 4-for-6 with 5 RBIs. He starred in a win over Middleboro, pitching 7 ⅔ innings and striking out 5.

Colin Blake + Evan O'Brien, Pembroke: Blake drove in 5 RBIs and O'Brian had 4 hits in a 10-2 win over Marshfield.

Luc Lefevre + John Wallingford, Cohasset: Lefevre went 2-for-3 with a double and 4 RBIs in a 10-7 win over Dedham. In a 6-5 win over Carver, Wallingford had a 2-out, walk-off RBI double. Lefevre struck out 11 over 5 innings.

Max King + Luke Joyce, Braintree: The Wamps received some pristine performances from both pitchers. In an 8-0 win over Brockton, King tossed six shutout innings. Joyce threw a 8-strikeout shutout in an 4-0 win over Norwood. He pitched 8 scoreless innings and earned two wins during the week.

Jack Ritchie + Shamus Barrett, Bridgewater-Raynham: In an 8-0 win over Silver Lake, Ritchie pitched a shutout with 5 hits allowed and 8 strikeouts. Barrett went 2-for-3 at the plate with a triple and 3 RBIs.

Brendan Whitman, Soph., Scituate: Whitman went 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs and 3 runs scored in a 7-4 win over Falmouth.

Gabe Knudsen, Sr., Hanover: Knudsen pitched a 5-inning no-hitter with one walk and 13 strikeouts in a 10-0 win over Falmouth.

Brayden Wright, Jr., Middleboro: Wright went 5-for-5 with 5 RBIs in a 9-6 win over Weymouth.

Peter Abair + Simon Fletcher, Lincoln-Sudbury: Abair threw a complete game and allowed just one unearned run with six hits and three strikeouts for the Warriors in a 2-1 win over Waltham. Fletcher made his first varsity start against Catholic Memorial on Friday and earned his first win. He threw six shutout innings, allowing just three hits with nine strikeouts in a 4-0 victory.

Will Adamski, Sr., Hopedale: Adamski was 2-for-3 with an RBI and dropped in a walk-off single for the Blue Raiders in a 4-3 win over Uxbridge.

Michael Atwater, Hudson: Atwater struck out nine in a complete-game victory Thursday in the John Ahearn Tournament consolation game, as the Hawks took down Shrewsbury 5-1. Atwater allowed just four hits and a run for Hudson.

JJ Blanchard, Sr., Framingham: The UMass signee had a hit and an RBI for the Flyers, and he threw three innings of one-hit ball with four strikeouts in a 6-1 win over Holliston.

Austin Campbell, Sr., Franklin: The lefty UMass signee struck out nine and allowed just one hit and an earned run in a 6-3 loss to Catholic Memorial.

Derek Hatherley, Sr., Hopkinton: Hatherley allowed just two hits and a run, striking out 11 against just one walk in a 3-1 win over North Attleborough.

Tyler Ladouceur, Sr., Bellingham: Ladouceur doubled with two outs, scoring two runs to tie the game in the seventh inning for the Blackhawks and also scored the winning run in a 4-3 win over Dover-Sherborn. He also helped combine for a one-hitter on the mound in a 2-1 win over Bishop Feehan.

Gavin Lynch, Sr., Dover-Sherborn: Lynch threw a complete game for the Raiders, striking out 10 and allowing just four hits, in a 2-1 win over Needham.

Jack Marino, Soph., Blackstone Valley Tech: Marino had three hits and two RBIs in a 9-2 win over Hopedale. He also was 2-for-4 with three RBIs and scored two runs for the Beavers in a 7-1 win over Westborough.

Ryan McCausland, Sr., Wellesley: The lefty St. Lawrence signee McCausland threw five shutout innings and allowed just one hit in a 10-0 win against Concord-Carlisle. He also doubled twice with two RBIs for the Raiders.

Tyler Moore, Sr., Marlborough: Moore didn't allow an earned run and struck out nine in a complete game, allowing just two hits, in a 7-3 win over rival Hudson the semifinals of the John Ahearn tournament.

Teddy Peters, Sr., Holliston: The Brandeis signee Peters scored three runs and stole three bases with two hits and an RBI as the Panthers defeated Bridgewater-Raynham, 12-8. Peters also struck out eight in five shutout innings on the mound while doubling among his two hits with an RBI in a 12-3 win over Natick.
