49ers roster moves: CB Janoris Jenkins, DL Alex Barrett elevated for playoff game vs. Cowboys

The 49ers on Saturday announced a pair of roster moves before their divisional playoff matchup with the Cowboys. Cornerback Janoris Jenkins and defensive lineman Alex Barrett were both elevated from the practice squad.

Jenkins will once again take the spot of injured CB Ambry Thomas, who’s out with an ankle injury that’s sidelined him for the last three weeks. The 49ers have called on Jenkins a couple times this season, and he’ll likely be the first cornerback off the bench in the event of an injury.

Barrett may be active on game day to give the 49ers more DL depth, but with a fully healthy defensive front they could leave him inactive and allow him to earn a full game check. The 49ers did this last week with running back Tevin Coleman.
