Brock Purdy, the starting NFL quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, is surprisingly relatable.

In an interview with TODAY, the 23-year-old quarterback who was selected in the seventh round of the 2022 draft shared that he splits rent with his roommate, who is an offensive lineman for the 49ers. Purdy also mentioned that he chose to drive a Toyota Sequoia instead of a more flashy car.

That is not a huge surprise given that San Francisco is the third most expensive city to live in the United States, according to the Cost of Living Index, following New York City and Honolulu.

Compared to other NFL quarterbacks, the second-year QB earns significantly less and only makes $870,000 annually while residing in the Bay Area. On the other hand, Joe Burrow, the Cincinnati Bengals' quarterback has the highest annual salary of $55 million, while the reigning Super Bowl champion quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, comes in a close second with an annual salary of $52.65 million.

Purdy's performance in 2023 has paved the way for a potential raise in the future, as he has completed 72.3% of his passes for 1,019 yards and five touchdowns.

Purdy and the San Francisco 49ers face a tough challenge against the Dallas Cowboys in Week 5.
