4-star PF Nic Codie on visiting Auburn: ‘I had to come find out what it’s about’

Nic Codie is nearing the end of his recruitment but before then, he had to make one last visit. The four-star power visit was in Auburn to check out the basketball program as well as watch the football team beat Mississippi State inside Jordan-Hare Stadium.

This visit gave him plenty to consider.

“This is the last chance,” Codie told Auburn Undercover’s Jason Caldwell. “When I get home, me and my family are going to discuss it and talk about it the whole week. I had to take this visit because Auburn has a lot to offer. Their past and development of players is really intriguing. I had to come find out what it’s about.”

Down to Auburn, Houston, LSU, Miami, TCU and Virginia Tech, he explained the three main factors in his decision, which will come on Nov. 2.

“I’m looking for a place that’s like family,” he said. “A place I can have fun at. That’s a real big thing to me. Also, where I can win. I have a winning attitude. Also, someone that can develop me into a pro. Those are the three main things along with a coaching staff that can make my family feel comfortable sending me to.”

Codie is the No. 51 overall player and No. 10 power forward in the 247Sports composite ranking. The Carrollton native is also the No. 1 player from Texas.
