With 4 games to go, Packers are the new No. 1 seed in the NFC

Thanks to a win over the Chicago Bears on Sunday night and the Los Angeles Rams’ win over the Arizona Cardinals on Monday night, the Green Bay Packers are the new No. 1 seed in the NFC with four games to go in the 2021 season.

The Packers, at 10-3, would win a three-way tiebreak with the Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers based on conference record. Matt LaFleur’s team is 8-2 against the NFC, while the Cardinals and Buccaneers are 6-3. The Packers also have the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Cardinals.

If the season ended today, the Packers would get the conference’s only first-round bye and homefield advantage throughout the NFC playoffs.

If the Packers win out, it won’t matter what happens with the Buccaneers or Cardinals; LaFleur’s team will secure the No. 1 seed. Green Bay plays two more games against the NFC North (vs. Vikings, at Lions) and AFC North (at Ravens, vs. Browns).
