It's lacrosse season in the Augusta area.
Columbia County programs are coming off what is likely the best season we’ve seen since local schools adopted the sport. The Lakeside and Evans boys both won Georgia High School Association state playoff games a year ago, along with Lakeside and Greenbrier on the girls’ side. The sport continues to grow and its profile around the state improves along with it.
Augusta-area programs begin the journey that, hopefully, ends at the state championships during the second week of May. Until then, here are 39 players to watch as the action begins over the next week.
