These 25 athletes will make their mark on Wisconsin high school girls wrestling this season

A new high school wrestling season is underway in Wisconsin.

Here are the top 25 girls wrestlers to watch this season, in alphabetical order.

Lillie Banks, so., Menasha

Banks began her high school career by finishing second at 126 pounds as a freshman at the WIAA state girls tournament.

Angie Bianchi, so., Two Rivers

Bianchi reached the girls state title match at 114 pounds, losing a 6-4 sudden victory. Two Rivers coach Scott Peltier expects Bianchi to win a state championship this season. “With the work (Angie) put in during the offseason and coming so close last year losing in the state finals, they have a determination to reach the top step on the podium,” Peltier said.

Shelly Bullman, sr., Eau Claire

Bullman placed third at 138 last season.

Madison Burns, jr., Ashland

Burns took the crown at 235 as a sophomore.

Carley Ceshker, so., Badger

Ceshker won the title at 126 as a freshman.

Dealya Collins, so., Mineral Point

Collins finished third at 126 last season.

Brooke Corrigan, jr., De Pere

Corrigan is the two-time reigning state champ at 100.

Ella Creighton, sr., Badger

Creighton is the reigning state champ at 185.

Savannah Danielson, sr., Wausau West

Wausau West coach Dallas Moe thinks Danielson finishing second at 107 last season will aid her this year. “Savannah's goal is to be the first female state champion for Wausau West,” Moe said. “As a runner-up last year, she knows what it takes to get there and will work tirelessly to achieve that goal.”

Keela Deering, jr., Clintonville

Deering took second at 185 as a sophomore.

Sophia Galoff, sr., Brillion

Galoff finished third at 132 last season.

Ava Gardner, jr., Marshfield

Marshfield coach Cody See says Gardner has her sights set on a state title after taking third at 100 last season.

Natalie Klavetter, jr., Hudson

Klavetter finished third at 120 a season ago.

Hailie Krueger, jr., New London

Krueger is the two-time reigning state champ at 145 and New London coach Nathan Krueger says her goal is to win a third straight as a junior.

Chloe LaRue, jr., Cuba City/ Benton/Southwestern

LaRue was the state runner-up at 145 last season.

Emjay Neumann, so., Manitowoc Lincoln

Neumann lost the girls state championship match at 120 via a pin in 1:25. Manitowoc Lincoln coach Tyler Wetenkamp thinks Neumann can finish the job this season. “I expect Emjay to dominate this year and ultimately win a state title,” Wetenkamp said.

Isabelle Olesen, jr., Oak Creek

A two-time state runner-up, Olesen finished second at 152 as a sophomore. “Isabelle is looking to win a state title this season,” Oak Creek coach Matthew Majors said. “She's worked hard over the summer and participated in many offseason tournaments. She's also been named our team captain.”

Madi Peach, so., Milton

Peach took third at 114 as a freshman.

Ava Peters, so., Pulaski

Seymour coach Adam Pashouwer said Peters, who took third at 107 last season, recently transferred to Pulaski.

Cyriana Reinwald, jr., Horicon

Reinwald is the reigning two-time state champ at 165, having earned the crown each of her first two seasons.

Izabella Riebe, so., Wisconsin Lutheran

Riebe finished second at 235 during her debut high school season.

Rachel Schauer, sr., Fennimore

Schauer took second at 165 as a junior.

Madalyn Sokolski, jr., Bonduel

Sokolski was the state champ at 138 as a sophomore and Bonduel coach Chad Bogacz has lofty expectations. “Her expectation is to be a state champion once again and to be undefeated in the girls division,” Bogacz said. “She also makes our varsity boys team roster and competes throughout the year and is very competitive. We both believe by battling the boys throughout the year it makes her mentally tough enough and battle tested to go out and dominate the girls division.”

Iszybelle Sonnentag, so., Cadott

Sonnentag placed second at 100 during her first high school season.

Taylor Whiting, so., Lena

Whiting, the reigning state champ at 107, recently transferred to Lena from Oconto Falls according to Oconto Falls coach Cody Nielsen.
