2024 NFL Draft position preview: Interior OL depth is decent, Jaguars might not draft one
The Jacksonville Jaguars are finalizing their plans for the 2024 NFL Draft and finalizing their draft board.
The board will have several players and positions of interest highlighted as the team looks to add pieces who can help them achieve their goals.
One of those targeted positions could be an interior offensive linemen as this draft class has several good IOL.

Whether it’s center or both guard spots, teams will be able to find players who can be staples for years to come.
For Jacksonville, they’ve used the offseason to stabilize their IOL. They reworked right guard Brandon Scherff’s contract, signed center Mitch Morse and re-signed right guard Ezra Cleveland.
But they might use a day three draft pick to add depth to their o-line or as a future replacement.
2024 NFL Draft: Top five interior offensive linemen
Troy Fautanu, Washington, 6-3, 317 projected first round
Jackson Powers-Johnson, Oregon, 6-3, 328 projected second round
Cooper Beebe, Kansas St., 6-3, 322 projected second or third round
Graham Barton, Duke, 6-5, 311 projected second round
Zach Frazier, West Virginia, 6-2, 315 projected third round
Jaguars could take an IOL, though it’s unlikely
The Jaguars certainly could jump in the mix to draft an IOL in the draft.
But after all the free agency moves, it’s unlikely that they’ll be drafting an interior offensive lineman prior to the third day of the draft. In fact, the team might not draft one at all.
They’re rolling with their starters from last year sans Luke Fortner and are bringing back several depth players behind them.
It seems that the team is content with interior offensive line but they could look to address the tackle position.
Draft is deep enough to find solid player in later rounds
If the Jaguars aren’t content, they’ll be able to find good players in the late rounds. Rounds 5-7 will give the team to add depth for the IOL.
Especially since the team is set on starters and would be looking for a reserve player.
Or the team can opt not to draft any interior linemen and roll with the players they currently have on the roster.
