The Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball Tournament tipped off Thursday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland. The winner claims the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and will find itself somewhere on the bracket Sunday evening. Kent State won last year's MAC Tournament, with Akron winning the 2022 title. They meet in this year's title game.

Who was the top seed in the MAC men's basketball tournament?
Toledo (20-11, 14-4) enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed for the second straight year. But unlike last season, when the Rockets were dominant much of the season in going 16-2 in league play, this year's team had to rally to claim the regular-season title. The Rockets won their final three league games to pass Akron (21-10, 13-5) in the standings, as the Zips lost their final two MAC games. Akron and Toledo split their two regular-season meetings, each winning on their own home floor. Toledo, though, is not the hottest team entering the tournament. That would be Ohio (19-12, 13-5), as the Bobcats had won six straight coming in Thursday.

Both of Friday's semifinals will be available to watch live on CBS Sports Network.
