FIRST TEAM

Amaya Coffie, forward

Pilgrim, Senior

Coffie helped power the Patriots to a Division I-A title thanks to her scoring touch. Few defenses could deal with her combination of power, speed and technical ability. Coffie was an All-Region selection by the United Soccer Coaches and will join her older sister, Alanna, at Providence in the fall.

Nicole Calle, forward

Cumberland, Senior

Calle was the best player on the state’s top team, as the Clippers rolled undefeated to a first Division I title in school history. She attacked off the left wing and through the middle, providing an assist on the killer goal in the final against Mt. Hope. The All-America nominee will continue her career at Le Moyne.

Thea Jackson, forward

Mt. Hope, Sophomore

The Huskies reached a first Division I title match since 2007 thanks to their young core. Jackson starred in her debut season and was just as dangerous in her encore, providing offense off both wings and up top as a striker. Her blistering pace and finishing touch should help make Mt. Hope a favorite in 2024.

Ava Normandin, midfielder

Cumberland, Senior

Normandin signed off with one of her best performances in the Division I title match. She was dominant from midfield, controlling the ball and the flow of the play throughout in a 3-1 win over Mt. Hope. Normandin assisted on the opening goal, scored the winner and showed why she’ll extend her career in the fall at Assumption.

Isabella Cambio, midfielder

North Kingstown, Junior

There isn’t a player in the state who covers more ground in midfield. Cambio was an All-Region nominee for her efforts with the Skippers, who battled injuries throughout the season and still reached the Division I semifinals. Cambio will try to make it three titles in four years when she returns as a senior in 2024.

Krista Kasbarian, midfielder

Smithfield, Senior

The Sentinels found their form as the calendar turned to October, managing a 6-3-1 stretch before a tight defeat to Cumberland in the Division I quarterfinals. Kasbarian assisted on the lone goal in the 2-1 loss against the Clippers and was a steady presence in her team’s midfield throughout her final year on campus.

Emma Goglia, midfielder

Mt. Hope, Freshman

The best feels like it’s yet to come for Goglia and her teammates. She was among a handful of first-year Huskies who helped power a run to the Division I final, doing so from her spot in the midfield. Soccer runs in her blood, and Goglia has wasted no time developing into an accomplished player at both the club and high school levels.

Ella Kauffman, midfielder

East Greenwich, Sophomore

The Avengers weren’t rewarded all that often in the win column, but Kauffman’s effort didn’t waver all the way into the Division I season’s final week. Her hat trick helped clinch a victory over Cranston West and cemented a team lead in goals, assists and shot attempts. Hers is a name to watch entering 2024.

Tori Babineau, defense

Chariho, Senior

The Chargers kept four clean sheets and allowed just one goal in three playoff matches, including a 1-0 upset of Division I-A champion Pilgrim. Babineau helped lead the defense and ensured another competitive season for Chariho at the state’s top level. She’ll continue her career at Eastern Connecticut State.

Riley Bromage

Pilgrim, Senior

The Patriots secured another Division I-A title partly thanks to a solid defense. Pilgrim racked up seven shutouts and Bromage was in the middle of that effort. Her veteran presence and confidence both marking opposing strikers and on the ball made her the ideal leader at the back.

Sofia Torres, defense

Cumberland, Junior

Few teams can just attack at will from the front and win a championship. Confidence comes from strength at the back — Torres helped provide that for the Clippers while they captured a first Division I title. Cumberland collected five shutouts and generally made life difficult for opposing strikers as needed.

Oceanna Orlandi, goalkeeper

Cranston West, Junior

The Falcons limited their opponents to one goal or less in 13 of their first 14 Division I matches this season. Four of those were shutouts — two of those were 0-0 draws. Orlandi and her defense needed to be perfect or close to it on most nights, and they were usually up for the challenge. She’s an athletic, agile shot-stopper with a bright future.
