Class in 2023: Redshirt Freshman

Blaise Sokach-Minnick was not a player with a handful of offers from Power 5 conference programs, although he did have some level of interest in a few including Boston College, Pittsburgh, Stanford, and Oregon State. But Penn State was an easy favorite for the in-state recruit. Although Penn State did not have a scholarship offer to extend, the Nittany Lions did welcome Sokach-Minnick to the program as a walk-on player in the Class of 2022.

Career Stats

Blaise Sokach-Minnick joined the program as a walk-on player in 2022 and did not see any game action during the 2022 season. He was redshirted for his true freshman season.

Penn State looks to have two options for long-snapper in 2023, but Blaise Sokach-Minnick will likely be the second of the two. Tyler Duzansky is back in 2023 as well for his redshirt sophomore season, and he gained some playing experience last season by appearing in seven games as a redshirt freshman. That likely puts him in the driver’s seat for the top spot on the depth chart on special teams.
