2023 Pat Paterson All-Tourney Team; rotary member, organizer Greg Bailey recognized

HILLSDALE — The Pat Paterson tournament for 2023 has been officially put in the record books with the 2023 all-tournament team announcement.

In addition to the announcements of the All-Tournament team. The Rotary Club and tournament staff want to recognize longtime rotary member Greg Bailey. Bailey presented the boys Pool A championship medals to the Jonesville Comets alongside HA A.D. Nathan Neveau.

Bailey was recognized for his efforts organizing the yearly Pat Paterson tournament for more than 20 years. This was Bailey's last tournament as an organizer.

The Pool A boys basketball tournament MVP was Gavin Van Kampen for Jonesville. Van Kampen helped lead the Jonesville Comets to the Pool A title, including wins over Hillsdale Academy and Reading. Van Kampen had a total of 28 points, including a double-double game of 14 points and 11 rebounds against Reading in the title game.

The Pool A girls basketball tournament MVP was Alexis Trine for Jonesville. This was Trine's second MVP win in two seasons. Trine helped lead the Comet girls basketball team to a third straight Pool A championship, with wins over Hillsdale Academy and Reading. Trine had a total of 20 points and 12 rebounds.

The Pool B boys basketball MVP was senior Jack Bowles of Hillsdale. The Hornet boys basketball team dominated their way through the Pool B tournament, earning the Pool B title after wins over Camden-Frontier and Waldron. Bowles had a total of 47 points and nine rebounds.

The Pool B girls basketball MVP was Karsyn Stebbins of Hillsdale. The senior Hornet led the team with 26 total points, including a 14-point, eight rebound, six steal and two assist game against Camden-Frontier. The team defeated Camden-Frontier 49-13 and Waldron 49-27 on their way to the Pool B title.
