2023 NFL Draft: Jaguars select Texas A&M DB Antonio Johnson in Round 5

After making a deal in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, the Jaguars picked up a fifth-round selection, pick No. 160 from the New York Giants. With the selection, the Jaguars picked Texas A&M defensive back Antonio Johnson with their final pick in Round 5.

Johnson, 6-2, 198, played in 25 games with the Aggies, accounting for 164 total tackles, 14 tackles for loss, one interception and seven pass breakups over three years.

Johnson was named Associated Press First-Team All-SEC in 2022, he forced a fumble in each of the last three games of the season last year as well.

"My versatility, not having a set spot ... I'm a long, tall safety and just make plays and I feel like that's what you need in the secondary," Johnson said earlier this spring at the scouting combine.

The Jaguars entered the draft with a big need within its secondary after experiencing some attrition within the position group last season.
