Longer lashes and fuller brows are two of the most desired features when it comes to beauty. And while lash extensions and tinting can cost you upwards of hundreds of dollars, castor oil is one of the most affordable and underrated solutions when it comes to hair growth.

With nearly 7,000 reviews on Amazon, shoppers claim this best-selling castor oil has significantly stimulated the growth of their eyelashes and eyebrows. Some have even said that it treated dry brittle hair and dandruff as it acts as a hydrating moisturizer to repair hair. Other benefits of the castor oil include reducing blemishes and overall smoother skin. However, the oldest use of castor oil is actually meant to be a natural laxative.

Hailing from the Ricinus Communis plant, this formula only includes the sole ingredient of castor oil deriving from castor beans. It is also extracted via cold pressed making it totally pure.

A-list stars have resorted to using castor oil to promote hair growth. Charlize Theron told Harper's Bazaar that she "put it on my brows and scalp once or twice a week. It's definitely made my hair thicker. The Washington Post recently revealed that Cleopatra actually "used it in her hair" centuries ago.

One longtime castor oil user explained on Amazon that the product is "awesome for skin, lashes and brows. She continued, "I've been using it nightly for 6 years, consistently, and the results speak for themselves. I'll always use castor oil."

Another happy Amazon shopper said, "I've had noticeable new growth and my lashes seem thicker too. When I put mascara on, wow, what a difference this castor oil has made! I love my eyelashes now! I use the thin applicator every night, I dip it then sweep across my lid close to the lashes (like liner) then I use the mascara like applicator afterwards. I do this every night after washing my face. I'll never stop using castor oil!"

One person revealed that actually they mix it with their mascara: "The results came out of no where!...I started adding this to my mascara bottles and I am so happy. It made them TWICE as long...My eye lashes are so long and beautiful without mascara. I wear makeup everyday for work but on the weekends I don't bother and I have to say this made me feel that much better about myself. I for sure am going to purchase another bottle..."
