Although Romeo Stancil is still looking for major scholarship offers, the safety/receiver has seen some bigtime atmospheres. His teammate at Clayton (N.C.) High is 2019 defensive end Savion Jackson, who has offers from just about every program already. Last weekend the duo headed to Blacksburg together to see what Virginia Tech has to offer.

"We got to see the indoor and outdoor practice facilities, and the new team meeting room - which was pretty nice," Stancil said of the visit. "The best part of the trip had to be the game. There was a very lit atmosphere there."

VT easily knocked off Old Dominion by a 38-0 score. While the contest wasn't competitive, it was a nice chance for prospects to get a first look at Lane Stadium and everything the VT gameday experience has to offer.

Even better for Stancil, though, was getting the chance to sit down and talk with members of the Virginia Tech coaching staff. He shared how his season is going - pretty well, with a 6-0 record so far - and started to build a relationship.

"I just talked to one of the coaches," Stancil said. "He talked to me about how my football team was doing."

He has started to get a little bit more attention on the college recruiting scene, with NC State also showing interest, with North Carolina Central and Campbell University hot on his trail. He plans to visit one of those in the near future.

"I'll probably be going back to NCCU soon," he said.

With a teammate getting bigtime attention on the recruiting trail, he should still have plenty of opportunities to check out Power-5 schools in the next couple months, as well.
