The 20 MetroWest and Milford area outdoor boys track and field athletes to watch in 2024

Keep track of these 20 boys track and field stars this spring. They are returning champions and athletes that finished just off the podium looking to step up.

Six Daily News all-stars return after stellar springs in 2023. Many starred in the winter season and are aiming to take their talents outdoors.

Westborough captured the Division 3 championship, the only area program to raise a statewide team trophy.

Without further ado, here are 20 MetroWest and Milford area outdoor boys track and field athletes to watch in 2024:

Matthew Acquah, Sr., Natick

He was a Bay State Conference All-Star last spring and competed in the triple jump at nationals. Acquah placed sixth in the triple at the Division 2 state championships.

Will Bialobrzeski, Sr., Hopkinton

He was third at the Division 2 state meet in the 400 hurdles last spring after taking second in the even at the Tri Valley League showcase. Bialobrzeski as the Hillers Track athlete of the year and has qualified for New Balance Nationals three times and won 13 state medals.

Drew Bialobrzeski, Sr., Hopkinton

The TVL all-star took sixth in the 400 hurdles at the Division 2 outdoor championships and ran in the event at the meet of champions. He was also 12th in the 110 hurdles. This winter he was fifth in the 55 hurdles at the Division 2 indoor championships.

Nico Begic, So., Lincoln-Sudbury

He burst onto the scene this winter, finishing second in the 300 at both the meet of champions and Division 1 indoor championships.

Nick Bianchi, Sr. Natick

The Bay State all-star placed eighth in the Division 2 boys two-mile and was 13th in the mile at the same meet. This winter he qualified for the meet of champions in the mile.

Christopher Brooks, Sr., Wellesley

The William & Mary signee captured Division 2 sprint titles in the 100 and 200 last spring and holds the Raiders school records in the 100, 200 and 400. He added a meet of champions gold medal in the 20 and was second in the 100. This winter, Brooks captured the 55-meter title at both the meet of champions and Division 2 meet.

Sebastian Grillo, Sr., Westborough

His throwing prowess helped the Rangers capture the Division 3 team championship in 2023. He was a Mid-Wach A all-star and took third in the discus and fourth in the shot put at states.

Miles Lipka, Jr., Algonquin

He won the District E decathlon in 2023. Lipka then placed fifth in the 110 hurdles, 400 hurdles and triple jump at the Division 2 championships. He holds the school records in the decathlon and 400 hurdles. Titles in the 400 hurdles and triple jump at the Mid-Wach meet earned him all-league honors. He landed third in the meet of champions boys high jump this winter.

Ari Levine, So., Hopedale

He won the Division 5 state discus championship as a freshman the followed it with a school-record 47-2.25 toss at New Balance nationals, good for third in the freshman event. Levine captured both the discus and shot put Dual Valley Conference titles and was named the league's outstanding field athlete of the year.

Kaua Lima, Sr., Holliston

He cleared six feet in the high jump at last spring's meet of champions. Lima was a TVL all-star that placed second at the Division 4 outdoor championships. This winter, following a Daily News All-Star nod on the football field, he captured the Division 4 indoor title leaping over 6-4.

Aidan Lucier, Jr., Nipmuc

The Dual Valley Conference athlete of the year won both the 100 and 200 at the league championship meet while taking second in the long jump. Lucier finished sixth in the 100 at the District E Division 1 championship.

Eli Merritt, Sr., Wellesley

The Bay State all star finished sixth in the boys mile at the 2023 outdoor meet of champions and Division 2 championships. He ran the two-mile at this winter's meet of champions and was seventh in the indoor Division 2 mile.

Daniel Narvaez, Sr., Wayland

He was eighth in the Division 4 outdoor 800 last spring and competed in the meet of champions.

Nick Nicolazzo, Sr., Wellesley

He was a Bay State all-star last spring after competing in three events at the Division 2 outdoor championships. Nicolazzo placed ninth in the high jump, 13th in the triple jump and 15th in the long jump. He finished fifth in the long jump at this winter's meet of champions. Nicolazzo was second in the long jump at the Division 2 indoor championships and tied for sixth in the high jump.

Ben Parson, Sr., Milford

The Hockomock all-star took ninth in the boys 400 at the Division 2 championships last spring.

Russell Perryman, Sr., Hopkinton

He participated in the javelin at last spring's meet of champions and took fifth in the event at the Division 2 outdoor championships.

Parker Rogers, Sr., Marlborough

He won the Central Mass. Division 1 discus title and just missed the podium in the shot put in seventh. Rogers followed that with a bronze medal in discus at the Division 3 championships and took eighth at the meet of champions. This winter, he placed eighth in the meet of champions shot put after winning the Division 4 title.

Matt Rooney, Sr., Dover-Sherborn

The TVL Small MVP won the Division 5 state title in the 800 last spring and raced in the meet of champions. He was also eighth in the mile at outdoor divisionals. He also competed at the indoor meet of champions this winter in the 1,000 after placing second at the Division 4 meet by .01 seconds.

Steven Tafmizi, Sr., Natick

He was a Bay State conference all-star last spring and qualified for the meet of champions in the discus. Tafmizi took seventh at the outdoor Division 2 championships. He additionally qualified for the indoor meet of champions this winter in the shot put after placing sixth in the Division 2 meet.

Donovan Turner, Sr., Bellingham

He was a TVL all-star last spring and placed 10th in the discus at the Division 6 outdoor championships.
