15 MetroWest golfers to watch in 2023
This list might look familiar. A full 10 Daily News All-Stars are teeing off again this fall, eight for one las hurrah as seniors. No neck could hold the number of match medals they've earned.
There are state champions and New England qualifiers in this field.
Cole Adams, Jr., Wellesley
He landed in the top 10 at the Division 1 state tournament a year ago as just a sophomore. Adams carded a 3-over 75 to tie for eighth, the Raiders' best mark in a runner-up finish. He also plays on the New England PGA Jr. tour and won an event at Bass River Golf Club in Yarmouth in June.

Owen Blakely, Sr., Wellesley
He led the team to Cape Cod National Invitational Tournament, Bay State Conference and Bay State Conference All-Star match titles. Wellesley also took second at both the sectional and state tournaments. Blakely averaged just 1.2 strokes over par across nine holes and was a seven-time match medalist.
Brendan Estaphan, Sr., Westborough
He averaged a 37 across match play and only failed to break 40 three times. Estaphan won the Midland-Wachusett tournament and shot an 82 at sectionals. The St. John's (Shrewsbury) transfer also plays tennis.

Robert Geltman, Sr., Framingham
He qualified for the Division 1 North sectional as an individual and shot a 7-overpar 78 at Heritage Country Club. He averaged 14.5 points per match in the Stableford scoring system.

Connor Griffin, Jr., Blackstone Valley Tech
The Colonial Athletic League All-Star tied for first in the CAL Tournament and took second in the State Vocational Large School tournament. He led the Beavers to their first state tournament appearance averaging a team-low 38.5 strokes over nine holes.
Tim Hill, Sr., Dover-Sherborn
A member of the Raiders' 2021 state championship team, he led D-S to a Division 3 Central title a year ago. He earned Tri-Valley All-Star recognition after averaging 35 strokes per nine holes, fifth in the league.

Ryan Keyes, Sr., Wellesley
He won five match medalists and keyed Wellesley to a runner-up finish at the Division 1 state championship for a second year in a row. A former state champion, Keyes averaged just one stroke over par across nine holes.

Anthony Lapierre, Sr., Milford
He was named a Hockomock All-Star a season ago. Lapierre led the Scarlet Hawks with a 7-over 78 at the Division 1 Central sectional championships at Heritage Country Club.
Lucas Levasseur, Sr., Hopedale
The 11-time match medalist averaged a 36 across nine holes a season ago. He led Hopedale to a Dual Valley Conference title and second place at the Division 3 sectionals. Levasseur is a former Central Mass. individual champion.

Ben Madden, Sr., Wellesley
He won five match medalist awards despite competing with his highly touted teammates. Madden shot Wellesley's lowest round, a 2-over 73 at the Division 1 South Sectional at Easton Country Club. His 1.8-over par scoring averaged placed him on the Bay State Conference All-Star team.
Alex Peck, Jr., Natick
The Bay State All-Star helped the Redhawks to a fourth-place finish at the Division 1 South sectional. He tied for 20th at +7.
Charlie Potter, So., Dover-Sherborn
He led the Raiders to a Division 3 Central championship and a TVL Small title a year ago. Potter played in all 14 matches and ranked fourth in the league with a 36.14 average.
Sean Scannell, Sr., Dover-Sherborn
He was one of just 12 golfers that represented Massachsuetts at the New England Championships. Scannell was named the TVL Small MVP and captured the Division 2 Central individual title after shooting an even-par 72 at Blissful Meadows.
CJ Steel, Sr., Franklin
He tied for 17th at the Division 1 Central Championships, leading the Panthers at +5. Steel was named a Hockomock All-Star.
Hugo Young, Sr., Lincoln-Sudbury
He was named a Dual County League All-Star a season ago. Young qualified for the Division 1 Central tournament as an individual and shot a 6-over 77, which tied him for 20th at Heritage Country Club in Charlton.
