14 Gadsden area high school boys and girls bowlers to watch rolling into the postseason

With the high school bowling rolling on into the postseason, three Gadsden area squads will be continuing their seasons at regionals this week.

They will bowl Thursday and Friday in Trussville for the opportunity to go to the state title event next Thursday and Friday in Mobile. The only Gadsden-area team that sponsors bowling that did not make it was Coosa Christian.

Here are 14 bowlers to watch in the postseason:

Boys

Kaed Bradley, Etowah

Grade: Senior

Why: The 2022 state individual champion and a 2023 top-eight finisher is back with an average 199 and a high of 265.

Gabriel Brito, Gadsden City

Grade: Senior

Why: A multisport star for the Titans, Brito's style as a lefty two handed bowler gives him different looks.

Jaxson Bush, Etowah

Grade: Junior

Why: Bush has been a top-eight finisher at state the last two seasons and has been averaging 188 with a high of 213.

Evan Clay, Southside

Grade: Junior

Why: An all-tournament selection at the Panthers Classic, he has been averaging 181 this season.

Derik Henson, Gadsden City

Grade: Senior

Why: Henson has a couple games of over 240 this season.

Max Howard, Gadsden City

Grade: Senior

Why: Howard has bowled a 299, one pin shy of a perfect game, this year and is one of the more improved bowlers on the team.

Jack Kilgo, Southside

Grade: Senior

Why: Kilgo has been averaging 178 this season.

Dalton Suther, Southside

Grade: Junior

Why: Suther has an average of 183 this season and was All-State honorable mention last year.

Baylee Wilder, Etowah

Grade: Senior

Why: Wilder has been averaging 181 and has a high of 224.

Girls

Aaliyah Bostick, Gadsden City

Grade: Senior

Why: Bostick is one of the veterans on the team and a stabilizing force.

Cora Clontz, Southside

Grade: Sophomore

Why: The defending region champion is coming back with an average of 177 this year.

Jai'dence Guyton, Gadsden City

Grade: Senior

Why: She has a high of 181 and looks to ride a strong finish into the postseason.

Keilsy Hull, Southside

Grade: Senior

Why: An All-State selection a season ago, Hull has averaged 164 this year.

Kierra Phillips, Southside

Grade: Sophomore

Why: The 2023 defending state champion is back averaging 150 this season.
