Here are 12 Columbus-area high school football kickers and punters to watch this fall
Leading up to the high school football season, The Dispatch is taking a look at central Ohio’s top players by position.
Here are 12 kickers and punters to watch this fall, in alphabetical order:
Preston Bowman, Pickerington North
The 6-foot, 190-pound junior is North's punter and also plays wide receiver. Last season, he averaged 35.7 yards per punt with four touchbacks. He was named second-team all-OCC-Ohio on special teams.
Spencer Conrad, Olentangy Berlin
The 6-0, 200-pound senior handled kicking and punting duties for the Bears. He was successful on 11 field goals, went 33 for 34 on extra points and had a 40.6-yard average on punts. Conrad was first-team all-state and all-district in Division I and first-team all-OCC-Cardinal.
Drew Craddock, Ready
A 5-10, 170-pound senior, Craddock made 7 of 10 field goals, went 50 for 53 on extra points and also was the punter last season. He was first-team all-district and honorable mention all-state in Division IV.
Drew Dossman, Amanda-Clearcreek
The 6-2, 195-pound senior served as the punter last season for the Aces. He was first-team all-district and honorable mention all-state in Division V.
Carson Goulet, Pickerington Central
A 5-8, 160-pound junior, Goulet made one field goal and went 49 for 50 on extra points last fall. He had 14 touchbacks on kickoffs and a 41.0-yard punting average. He was first-team all-OCC-Buckeye.
Carter Holden, Dublin Jerome
The 6-3, 200-pound senior served as the Celtics’ kicker and punter last season. He connected on 11 of 12 field goals and 33 of 36 extra points and had a 37.8-yard punting average. He was first-team all-district and second-team all-state in Division I and first-team all-OCC-Cardinal.
Rudy Kessinger, Watterson
The 6-3, 185-pound senior connected on 9 of 11 field goals and 40 of 41 extra points with 49 touchbacks on 60 kickoffs last season. He was first-team all-state and all-district in Division III.
Kaedon Kline, Grove City
The 6-3, 190-pound senior serves as the Dawgs’ kicker and punter. Last season, he made four field goals and converted on 37 extra points. He also had a 47.2-yard punting average. Kline was second-team all-OCC-Ohio and special mention all-district in Division I.
Holden Milliken, Upper Arlington
The 5-8, 175-pound senior converted on 8 of 12 field goals and 45 of 45 extra points a season ago. He was first-team all-OCC-Central and special mention all-district in Division I.
Noah Musick, Granville
A 5-10, 170-pound senior, Musick made 12 of 14 field goals with a long of 47 yards and was 27 of 27 on extra points last season. He was first-team all-district and honorable mention all-state in Division III, as well as special teams Player of the Year in the LCL-Buckeye.
Carter Skaggs, North Union
The 6-3, 180-pound senior had 25 punts for 888 yards, a 35.5 average, with three punts placed inside the 20-yard line and a long of 62 yards. He was first-team all-CBC-Mad River and second-team all-district in Division IV.
Jake Walter, Hilliard Bradley
The 5-9, 165-pound senior made 9 of 12 fields goals with a long of 42 yards and was 23 for 25 on extra points last year. He had 33 touchbacks on 48 kickoffs. Walter was second-team all-district in Division I and second-team all-OCC-Central.
