Here are 10 boys soccer programs that have already made an impression

We're a couple of weeks in and most teams have been on the field for a game or three.

The NYSPHSAA has moved to six classifications based on enrollment, which is going to require some getting used to, but we have a pretty good idea who the early favorites are.

Of course, there's a long, long way to go.

Top 10

1. Scarsdale (3-0) – It's possible this Raiders team is more talented and experienced than last year's group, which celebrated a NYSPHSAA Class AA championship.

2. John Jay-East Fishkill (2-0) – Derek Viebrock and the Patriots are playing like the favorites in AAA, but there is no shortage of competition.

3. Somers (0-0) – There's great mix of youth and experience here A sectional title is within reach, but the Tuskers will have to contend with Scarsdale in Class AA.

4. New Rochelle (2-0-2) – Very few teams are this stingy. The question is, will the Huguenots score enough goals to get back to a Section 1 title game?

5. North Rockland (2-0) – Mohamed Fadl set up the first goal then scored the game-winner in the 80th minute of an uplifting 2-1 win over Arlington.

6. Arlington (2-1-1) – The Admirals have already been tested against the likes of New Rochelle, Bethlehem, North Rockland and Ossining.

7. Tappan Zee (4-0) – Brady Jacobs and John Kryger might well go into the Class A playoffs without a loss for the second year in a row.

8. Eastchester (2-0) – Pay attention here. The Eagles were up a goal at Somers last week when Mother Nature rumbled in and hit the pause button.

9. Rye (1-0) – After last season, Tommy Broderick is an established threat. What else do the Garnets have in store for their Class A rivals this season?

10. Yorktown (2-1) – There are so many starters to replace, but the Huskers always seem to find enough capable players to plug in.
