Palestinian activists protested in front of the Hallenstadion in Zurich, Switzerland, where the 65th FIFA congress met. The Palestinian Football Association was asking FIFA to suspend Israel from world football, just as it once suspended apartheid South Africa and Slobodan Milosevic's Yugoslavia. After much debate, the Palestinian Football Association on withdrew the motion to expel the Jewish state from FIFA.
