9 NFL games affected by weather, disasters or tragedies

NFL disasters
A 2008 game in Houston between the Ravens and Texans, slated for mid-September, was rescheduled for Nov. 9 that year because of a Hurricane Ike. This photos workers as they make their way across the retractable roof of Reliant Stadium to assess the damage.

The NFL announced on Thursday afternoon that the game would not take place in Buffalo due to a snowstorm plaguing the Buffalo area.

The three sites under consideration are Detroit, Washington D.C. and Pittsburgh, according to the New York Post. The game could be played on Monday, but the NFL has not specified that. The only thing Aiello said about the timing of the game was that the league is rescheduling it "as part of Week 12."

This isn't the first time that the NFL has been forced to postpone or relocate a game due to tragedy, disaster, and weather.
