Sometime soon, Pacman Jones might get the rare pleasure of meeting a lawyer who is not working 'round the clock to keep him out of jail. It seems that Pacman didn't care for ESPN's report that he had arranged to have a man shot in an Atlanta nightclub in 2007, and he plans to sue.
Adam Jones is denying an ESPN report that he arranged for someone to shoot at three men outside a Atlanta night club.
In fact an angry Jones said he's planning legal action against the network.
"It will be a lawsuit in a week against ESPN," Jones said. "That's stupid. It's so stupid I have no more comments."
I'm getting way ahead of myself here, but my dream outcome for any potential Pacman Jones lawsuit against ESPN would be that ESPN agrees to air a special episode of "Outside the Lines" entitled "ESPN's sincere and heartfelt apology to the noble and kindhearted Adam 'Pacman' Jones, who has done absolutely nothing wrong."
ESPN's really put itself in a tight spot here. It went public with an accusation with no information on who the accusation comes from, and no reason why the information should be deemed credible, especially when the police investigation found no reason to press any charges against Pacman.
I guess that information's coming on a future edition of "Outside the Lines," and ESPN has put itself in a position now where that show had better deliver.

While I am in whole-hearted agreement with the Cowboy's decision to cut Pacman loose, ESPN has probably gone over the top on this one. If the police couldn't find any evidence that Pacman tried to have someone shot, then where did ESPN come up with this? If they have evidence, and have not handed it over to law enforcement, then they are guilty of obstruction. If this is just another tabloid rumor, then they need to be held accountable for that as well.
Pacman is a punk and I wouldn't shed any tears if he was sent away for life. I certainly believe he shouldn't be allowed to play in the NFL again. But even a punk is innocent until proven guilty. Apparently, ESPN doesn't live in the same country the rest of us do.

i like espn as much as the next guy( or gal) who loves sports but they run so much shows just smashing peoples reputation left and right with only hunches or so called insiders whom are never named.
and i think its a joke how they defend people they like and just destroy the ones they don't.... like the whole Bret farve throwing interception thing they defended him like he was there son or something, to the point it seemed as if every so called expert blamed thomas jones and the rest of the jets for there season when its obviously Farve sucking it up with 22int.
