Warriors sign Hilton Armstrong from NBA D-League affiliate

As the Golden State Warriors absorb injuries and shoddy defense on their frontline, they are signing forward Hilton Armstrong out of NBA D-League affiliate Santa Cruz, sources told Yahoo Sports.

Armstrong, who will be in uniform against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night, has averaged 15 points and seven rebounds for Santa Cruz.

The Warriors have been inconsistent this season, trudging to a 12-10 record. Center Jermaine O'Neal and forward Draymond Green missed practice Tuesday because of injuries. Forward Andre Iguodala continues to be sidelined with a hamstring injury.

The 6-foot-11 Armstrong was a first-round draft pick out of Connecticut in 2006. He played four seasons for the New Orleans Hornets before stops with Sacramento, Houston, Washington and Atlanta. He has played parts of the last two years in France, Greece and the D-League.
