Ware plans prompt return with Cowboys

The SportsXchange

DeMarcus Ware might miss a game for the first time in his career, but the nine-year veteran does not plan to get accustomed to the sideline view.

Ware, who has started all 134 games in his nine-year run with the Dallas Cowboys, left last week's game against the Washington Redskins with a quadriceps strain. Initial reports were that Ware wouldn't play again in October and could miss four weeks.

"I don't think so," Ware said. "I just know my body recovers really fast and I'm not going to be out that long."

Ware is doubtful for Sunday's game against the Eagles.

That would be good news for the Dallas defense. The Cowboys are allowing 308.2 yards per game with 14 touchdown passes in five games. Opposing quarterbacks are completing 65.6 percent of their passes

Ware won't be returning unless he's healthy, coach Jason Garrett said. A week off might do his body some good.

Ware has played through multiple injuries this season, including a back issue and a stinger. He has shoulder surgery in the offseason.
