UFC 192 Fighter Bonuses: Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson Earn Fight of the Night

UFC 192 Medical Suspensions: Alexander Gustafsson Out Until April of 2016

Following the UFC 192: Cormier vs. Gustafsson pay-per-view event on Saturday, the Ultimate Fighting Championship announced the fighter bonuses during the post-fight press conference at the Toyota Center in Houston. Daniel Cormier, Alexander Gustafsson, Albert Tumenov, and Adriano Martins banked the $50,000 incentives for their performances.

The light heavyweight title fight that headlined the fight card between champion Daniel Cormier and Alexander Gustafsson earned Fight of the Night honors. Cormier maintained constant pressure throughout the five-round bout and battered the Swede with uppercuts on the inside. Gustafsson did not go away easy and had the champion hurt at one point. In the end, Cormier retained his title by split decision. It was the 36-year-old's first title defense.

Welterweight Albert Tumenov took home a Performance of the Night bonus for his first-round finish of Alan Jouban on the preliminary fight card. Tumenov partially landed a head kick that wobbled Jouban. The Russian saw an opportunity to put Jouban away and seized it. He moved in with a flurry of punches forcing the referee to call a halt to the action.

Brazilian lightweight Adriano Martins earned the second Performance of the Night bonus for his one-punch knockout of Islam Makhachev on the undercard. Makhachev pressured Martins, and it ended up being his demise. As Makhachev moved forward with punches, Martins placed a counter right hand that sent Russian crashing to the canvas.
