UFC 163 Fight Card Complete… Hopefully… with Ferreira vs. Santos and Oliveira vs. Barroso

Iuri Alcantara vs. Russell Doane Bout Completes UFC Fight Night Brasilia Fight Card

UFC 163: Aldo vs. Korean Zombie is a mere two weeks away, yet the fight card has undergone a couple last-minute changes.

Cezar Ferreira was originally slated to fight Clint Hester, but will now line up opposite Thiago “Marreta” Santos. Ednaldo Oliveira lost Robert Drysdale as an opponent, and will now face Francimar Barroso.

UFC 163 takes place on Aug. 3 at HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro.

Ferreira (5-2) won the inaugural season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil by defeating Sergio Moraes at UFC 147 in June 2012. He had been slated to fight C.B. Dollaway at UFC on FX 8 in May, but after Dollaway was injured and replaced by Chris Camozzi, Ferreira had to withdraw from the bout due to an injury.

Santos (8-1) made his way to the Octagon via the second season of TUF Brazil. He fought his way into the fighter house, but lost out in the opening round of the tournament.

He’ll get a second chance to make his first impression when he steps in as a late replacement to face Ferreira.

Oliveira (13-1-1, 1 NC) lost his original opponent, Robert Drysdale, to a staph infection, but countryman Francimar Barroso (15-3) quickly stepped up to keep the fight on the card.

UFC featherweight champion Jose Aldo puts his belt on the line against Chan Sung Jung (aka The Korean Zombie) in the night’s main event.
