Tom Brady Gets Emotional Talking About His Father: 'My Dad Is My Hero'

At a press conference for Super Bowl LI’s opening night, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady became visibly emotional when 7-year-old reporter Joseph Perez asked, “Many people say you’re their hero, but who’s your hero?”

“That is a great question. Well, I think my dad is my hero, because he’s someone I look up to every day,” Brady answered as tears welled up in his eyes.

The football star reflected on his father’s influence on his life, saying, “He was just a great example for me, and he was always someone who supported me in everything I did, to come home at night and bring me out, hit me ground balls and fly balls. I loved baseball growing up.

“And to have a chance to go to 49er games on the weekend with him and my mom and throw the ball in the parking lot before the games; those are memories that I’ll have forever,” he added.

Brady has three children: Vivian, 4, and Benjamin, 7, with wife Gisele Bündchen and 9-year-old Jack with ex Bridget Moynahan.
