Syracuse bans two players from bowl game

Syracuse University suspended sophomore running back Adonis Ameen-Moore and junior tight end Max Beaulieu from the Orange's bowl game.

Coach Doug Marrone announced Tuesday in a press release that the two players would miss Saturday's New Era Pinstripe Bowl against West Virginia at Yankee Stadium.

No details were included about the actions of the two players.

Ameen-Moore had 30 carries for 108 yards and five touchdowns this season. His best game was the regular-season finale, when he ran 10 times for 57 yards and two scores at Temple.

Beaulieu has played in only one game this season, Oct. 19 against Connecticut, and he didn't have any receptions.

The disciplinary action is the second announced by the team in less than a week. Junior linebacker Marquis Spruill and junior running back Steven Rene will miss at least a part of the next game they participate in, Marrone said Friday. Spruill and Rene were arrested Dec. 2 on disorderly conduct and other charges. Rene won't play in the Pinstripe Bowl, as he is injured.

Both Syracuse and West Virginia enter the game with 7-5 records.
