Stanford 17, Oregon 14 (OT)
EUGENE, Ore. -- Stanford's Jordan Williamson booted a 37-yard field goal in overtime to lead Stanford to a 17-14 win over second-ranked Oregon Saturday night at Autzen Stadium.
Oregon followed No. 1 Kansas State in watching its unbeaten season come to an end as the Ducks fell to 10-1.
The Ducks, who entered the game leading the nation with 54.8 points per game, were tied 7-7 at halftime and 14-14 at the end of regulation.
Oregon got the ball first in overtime, but Alejandro Maldonado's field goal attempt hit the upright and was no good.
Stanford moved the ball five yards before Williamson connected on the game-winner as the Cardinal improved to 9-2 overall and moved into a tie with Oregon for first place in the Pac-12 North.
Stanford tied the game on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Hogan to Zach Ertz with 1:35 left in regulation. The Cardinal got the ball at its 22-yard line and drove 78 yards in 11 plays to tie the game.
Oregon took its first lead at 14-7 when De'Anthony Thomas scored on a 6-yard run with 6:35 left in the third quarter. Thomas capped a 16-play, 95-yard drive for the Ducks.
On Stanford's next offensive play, Oregon's Ifo Ekpre-Olomu forced a fumble and recovered the ball at the Cardinal 39-yard line. Oregon drove to the 25-yard line before Maldonado missed a 41-yard field goal late in the third quarter.
Stanford drove to Oregon's 20-yard line in the final minute of the third quarter before Stepfan Taylor fumbled and Erick Dargan recovered for the Ducks.
Stanford moved the ball to Oregon's 26-yard line on its next possession, but Williamson missed a 33-yard field goal with 8:05 left in regulation.
The Ducks were held scoreless in the first quarter for the first time all season after outscoring opponents 190-36 during their first 10 games.
Oregon quarterback Marcus Mariota had a 77-yard run in the first quarter that moved the ball to Stanford's 15-yard line, but the Ducks could not turn good field position into a score. On fourth-and-2 from the 7-yard line, Mariota was tackled for no gain.
After the fourth-down stop, Stanford drove 93 yards on 15 plays while taking more than seven minutes off the clock before Hogan scored on a 1-yard run. Stanford converted three times on third down as Hogan completed two passes for first down and ran for another first down.
Oregon drove into Stanford territory for the second time before failing to convert again on fourth down midway through the second quarter. On fourth-and-4 from the Stanford 38-yard line, Mariota overthrew tight end Colt Lyerla to give the ball back to the Cardinal.
Oregon's defense stopped Stanford on fourth-and-1 from the Oregon 41-yard line when Hogan threw an incomplete pass. The Ducks needed less than one minute to score. Oregon drove 59 yards on three plays, ending it with Mariota's 28-yard touchdown pass to Keanon Lowe that tied the game 7-7 with 3:26 left in the first half.
NOTES: Oregon all-conference defensive end Dion Jordan started after missing last week with a shoulder injury. Defensive linemen Ricky Heimuli and Isaac Remington, who also missed last week against Cal, played off the bench. ... Oregon has won 10 straight games in each of the past five seasons. ...
