Sources: Warriors to place Ian Clark on inactive list

Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr said he had a difficult decision in determining which player to place on the inactive list in Game 5 of the NBA Finals because of the suspension of Draymond Green, and the decision was made early Monday afternoon: guard Ian Clark, sources told The Vertical.

Clark will serve as an inactive player along with rookie Kevon Looney on Monday night. He has been a rotation player throughout the regular season and a reserve guard throughout the playoffs, turning a non-guaranteed contract for training camp into staying power in the NBA.

"The inactive player will be the biggest discussion because we use everybody," Kerr said on Sunday. "We have used every single guy during the playoffs. They have all been important, and so that's going to be a really difficult decision."

In 15 postseason games, Clark has averaged 4.2 points, 1.1 rebounds and one assist.

NBA rules dictate Green must remain active despite being unavailable on a one-game suspension. Green had pushed to attend Game 5, despite his suspension, but is now expected to spend the game next door at the Coliseum watching the A's play the Texas Rangers, The Undefeated reported.
