Source: Raiders work out running back Kory Sheets

The Oakland Raiders worked out Sasketchewan Roughriders star running back Kory Sheets, a former member of the San Francisco 49ers, Miami Dolphins and Carolina Panthers, according to a league source.

He wasn't immediately signed to a contract, though.

Sheets rushed for 1,598 yards last season and 197 yards in the Grey Cup championship where he was named game Most Valuable Player.

Sheets played collegiately at Purdue.

He has one carry for five yards during the 2009 NFL season with the Dolphins.
