Simone Biles isn't hanging her head after bronze medal performance

Simone Biles has been unstoppable at the Rio Olympics and a record five gold medals looked well within her reach. That’s why so many were crushed and disappointed when the United States gymnast stumbled on the balance beam and had to settle for the bronze medal.

But Biles isn’t hanging her head.

The all-around gold medalist took to Twitter to remind everyone that her accomplishments so far give her no reason to be down about her performance:

Earlier in the day, Biles told reporters that “any medal is amazing.” Her Olympic spirit has been impossible to crack, even when her own tremendous performances pushed the bar to a standard she ultimately couldn’t reach.

But as she pointed out, it’s hard for her to be too frustrated with the results when she has three gold medals and one bronze to show for it.

On Tuesday, she’ll compete in the floor exercise for her fifth medal of the 2016 Summer Games. A fourth gold medal would tie the record for women’s gymnastics and make Biles the first to accomplish the feat since 1984 when Romania’s Ecaterina Szabo won four gold in Los Angeles and a silver medal in the all-around.
