Reports: Two ex-Auburn players killed, current player shot in gunfight

Two former Auburn football players reportedly have been shot to death and a current player is hospitalized with a gunshot wound after an alleged shooting at an apartment complex near the Auburn, Ala., campus Saturday night.

Former Tigers Ed Christian and Ladarious Phillips suffered fatal gunshot wounds, according to AL.com and AlabamaUndercover.com, citing two sources familiar with the incident.

Mack, a sophomore offensive lineman who was expected to play next season, reportedly was shot and is receiving treatment for his wounds.

Auburn police are planning to hold a press conference Sunday to discuss the shooting.

According to multiple reports, the incident escalated from an argument between several men around University Heights complex's pool to a gunfight. None of the shooters were associated with the football program, AL.com reported citing a source.

All three players were part of Auburn's 2010 recruiting class, but only Mack is still on team. A bad back forced Christian to quit the team and Phillips had lost interest in the game.
