Reports: 76ers fire CEO Aron

The Philadelphia 76ers have dismissed chief executive officer Adam Aron, multiple media outlets reported Monday.

Aron also had an ownership stake in the team, but it is unclear whether he retained those ownership rights after being fired as CEO.

Aron was primarily involved with the team's marketing arm and was never part of the team's basketball operations.

Three days ago, the New York Daily News reported that former Madison Square Garden president Scott O'Neil was close to getting an executive position with the Sixers.
