Two University of Louisville linebackers were shot Saturday night during a party at an apartment near campus, according to reports from local television stations WHAS and WDRB.

Junior James Hearns and sophomore Henry Famurewa were two of the three victims, but the identity of the third victim was not known. Yusuf Shakir, who coached Hearns at Lincoln High School in Tallahassee, told the Louisville Courier-Journal that Hearns had been shot in the elbow but that “he’s OK” and “knows it could have been a lot worse.”

Hearns played in 12 games this season and led the Cardinals with eight sacks. He also was credited with five forced fumbles. Famurewa has two sacks on the year.

According to a witness who lives in the apartment complex, students were celebrating the Heisman Trophy victory of Louisville quarterback Lamar Jackson when the shooting occurred.
