Report: Nuggets sign Hickson

The Denver Nuggets, who have lost coach George Karl and forward Andre Iguodala since the end of the season, signed free agent center-forward J.J. Hickson to a three-year deal worth $15 million, Yahoo! Sports reported.

Hickson started 80 games Portland Trail Blazers last season, usually at the center position. He averaged 12.7 points and 10.4 rebounds in 29.0 minutes while making 56.2 percent of his shots.

Defense is a problem for Hickson, though. For the Nuggets, he may serve as a backup behind center JaVale McGee and power forward Kenneth Faried.
