Report: Marlins sign Polanco
Free-agent infielder Placido Polanco has signed a deal with the Florida Marlins, according to a CBSSports.com report.
The agreement includes incentives. The Miami Herald reported that the sides were close on a one-year, $2.75 million contract. Polanco became a free agent when the Phillies declined their half of the $5.5 million mutual option after the regular season.
The 37-year-old hit 15 doubles and batted .257 in 328 plate appearances in 2012.
